Open education is best approached with inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) in mind.

• Dress, Appearance, and Diversity in U.S. Society by Kelly L. Reddy-Best et al.
• Black, Brown, and Queer Studies (BBQ+) OER Library - a collection of audio shorts addressing different aspects of the black, brown, and queer experience.

Here is a podcast episode about re-mixing an OpenStax text to be more inclusive. The instructor then researched students’ sense of belonging. This is a good example of both the power of what we can do with OER and specific changes we can make to OER to make them more equitable.
