You are encouraged to place your textbooks and other required educational materials in our Course Reserves collection to help your students stay in your class.
Course Reserves items are located behind our Check Out Desk.
Textbooks: supplied by instructors. Instructors can usually ask their publishers for a free desk copy of their textbook. Reserve textbooks allow students to keep up with their assignments during the first two weeks of the quarter while students wait for financial aid checks or for their textbooks to be mailed to them. Once students are financially able, they usually purchase their own copy of the textbook.
Solutions, handbooks, and lecture notes: supplied by instructors
Exams or Quizzes from previous quarters: supplied by instructors
Educational kits (e.g. rocks, manipulatives, etc.): supplied by instructors
Books: you are welcome to use your own copy or ask the library to purchase a copy.
DVDs: you are welcome to use your own copy or ask the library to purchase a copy.
CDs: you are welcome to use your own copy or ask the library to purchase a copy.
Complete the Course Reserve form. Then,
if you are using your own personal item: bring the item along with the completed form to the library and drop them off at the Check Out Desk.
if you are using a library item: email the completed form to Chris Rea. Chris will find the item in the library and process your request.
Two business days. There may be a small delay at the beginning of each quarter, depending on how many new items need to be processed.
Please give us advanced notice at least one business day before you want to have your items back. This will give us time to unprocess the items, i.e. delete the item records from our library catalog, and take off all the labels and barcodes on them.
Once the items are ready, you will be notified to pick them up at the Check Out Desk.
