There are two ways to embed research guides into Canvas: 1) through Modules; 2) through Pages.
Follow the directions below to embed research guides into Canvas Modules.
1. Add an External Tool to your Module.
2. Scroll down the alphabetical listing and choose Library Research Guides.
3. Content Type: For most faculty, I recommend Full LibGuide.
4. Guide: Scroll down the alphabetical listing to find the research guide you want.
5. Guide Page: You can ignore this unless there is a specific page in the research guide that you want your students to see first. Otherwise, the default page that your students will see is the homepage of the research guide.
6. Click on Embed Content.
7. Page Name: rename the page to something that makes sense to students, e.g. Research Guide.
8. Click on Add Item button.
Done! Your module should have line for the research guide. Clicking on it will open the research guide in Canvas.
