What are planes?

A plane is a world that is part of the multiverse in the Magic: the Gathering setting that is similar to planet. Each plane has its own unique setting and natural laws. They very in size from virtually microscopic to infinite. They most typically appear as part of the lore/story, but also exist in card form within the format Planechase where they have their own unique plane cards.

What are Planeswalkers?

Planeswalkers are beings who are capable of traveling through the mutliverse to different planes. This power is granted to them by their planeswalker spark, an extremely rare gift that some beings are born with. These planeswalker sparks "ignite", usually through near-death or traumatic experiences, although some born with planeswalker sparks end up dying before their sparks ever ignite.

Planeswalkers also have their own unique card type that have their own mechanics.
