Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

If we do not have the book or article you need, we will request it for you from another library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

There are two kinds of ILL requests:

  • Article: A journal article or book chapter, sent electronically to you via email. Article requests usually take 1-2 business days. They are yours to keep, and do not need to be returned.

  • Loan: A physical item that is borrowed and then returned. Loans are typically books, but can also be DVDs, musical scores, etc. Loans usually take 5-10 business days to arrive here at SPSCC.

To make an ILL request, please use our ILL request form:

Community members may request interlibrary loans through their public library:

Yes, it's free as long as you return the ILL item before it is overdue and in the same condition as when you received it. You will be responsible for paying any overdue/lost fines if you return an item late or damaged, or if you don't return it at all.

  • Books: 5-10 business days

  • Articles: 1-2 business days

To request a renewal for your ILL book, contact Nick Triggs at ntriggs@spscc.edu or call 360-596-5426. Whether or not it can be renewed will depend on the lending library's policy.
