How To Find Articles

Scroll down the page for a list of databases that SPSCC Library has available for you to use. For most of your topics, I recommend that you use the multi-subject databases, either Academic Search Complete or Research Library or both. Each of these databases have their own collection of periodicals that will provide unique articles. If you need more in-depth articles on a particular topic, you can also use the subject-focused databases. For example, if your topic is autism, I recommend that you use the Health & Medicine databases if you're looking for a medical viewpoint, the Psychology databases for a psychological and mental viewpoint, and the multi-subject databases to have a broader understanding of how autism is viewed in society.

In college, many professors will require you to use peer-reviewed articles. Watch my short video to find out what they are and how to find them.

What Are Periodical Articles?

Find Articles

What are periodical articles? The term "periodical" means anything that is published regularly, such as daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc. "Articles" are written pieces of work published in print or electronic form. So, "periodical articles" is an overall term that includes any article from newspapers, magazines, or industry publications, as well as scholarly and peer-reviewed journals.

You can find articles in the library by searching our databases, which are collections of articles sorted by subject.
