Basic Requirements to Earn a Passing Grade: 

• 4 full pages minimum to 5 full pages maximum in length (not including the works cited page)
• Uses an organization pattern with a clear thesis, unified paragraphs, and transitions
• Elaborates on main ideas and provides appropriate support, such as details, examples, and research
• Ethically includes 2-4 credible sources as support (roughly about 25% of the essay should be source material)
• Stays focused on the writing prompt and addresses both prompt questions
• Reflects audience awareness and purpose by including relevant content and a fairly professional tone
• Applies MLA format and citation with some errors, but none that cause plagiarism
