Join a drop-in library workshop via Zoom! Each session is no more than an hour and many are less. You have the option to  just watch or to participate in hands-on activities with a librarian. All workshops except the first one are on Wednesdays.


Workshop Schedule


Week 1 -- Friday, January 8
  1. 11:00am: Introduction to library homepage, resources available, services offered online and (possibly) in-person, and how to get help

Week 3 -- January 20
  1. 10:00amCCS101 but all welcome – Plagiarism: Misdemeanor, Manslaughter, or Murder (Kahoot game)
  2. 1:00 – BEAM and basic database searching.
     
Week 4 -- January 27
  1. 11:00 -- BEAM and basic database searching.

Week 5 -- February 3
  1. 10:00 – Finding a topic, narrowing a topic, creating research questions
  2. 11:00 - Evaluating sources – (CRAAP and popular vs. scholarly)
  3. 3:00CCS101 but all welcome - Information literacy case studies assignment for CCS
     
Week 6 -- February 10
  1. 9:00CCS101 classes ONLY! - Database searching – coincides with database assignment for CCS101
  2. 10:00 - Advanced database searching (Boolean, truncating, subject terms.
     
Week 7 -- February 17
  1. 10:00CCS101 but all welcome -- Working with scholarly articles – how to find them, read them, and mostly understand them
  2. Noon – BEAM and basic database searching
     
Week 8 -- February 24
  1. 10:00 -- Evaluating sources – (CRAAP and popular vs. scholarly)
