Copy of Nutrition 101: Cite sources in APA style

Examples

Elements to include:

Last, F. M. (Year Published). Article title. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), pp. Page(s). doi:# or Retrieved from URL

Example

If there are three authors or less, list all three.  If there are more than three authors, list the first three and indicate the rest by typing:  et al.   (This is a Latin abbreviation that means "and others".)

Keyboard Command Tip: Ctrl T (PC), CMND T (Mac)

Highlight your citation, type the command. The first line of your citation hangs over the second line as shown in the example above.

Databases cite sources

Most databases provide citations. In CINAHL, look to the right of the article for the citation icon. If you send the article to yourself, the citation is included. Be sure to set the style for American Psychological Association style (APA).
