Information Literacy

The SPSCC library aligns its instruction with the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) Framework for Information Literacy.  Library instruction is a collaboration between the librarian and the professor to meet the goals of your class and assignments.

Librarians can provide lessons, resources, and instructional design to help students:

  • Develop research questions and topics
  • Find information in the physical library, the academic databases, and on the web
  • Critically evaluate sources for credibility and authority
  • Identify and interpret primary and evidence-based sources
  • Analyze and contextualize media
  • Use information ethically and properly (avoid plagiarism and cite sources)

For more information about how the Framework is used, please see https://acrl.libguides.com/framework/toolkit

Librarian Liaisons

Librarian Liaisons

Our primary mission is to support teaching and learning. Each area of study and pathway have a designated librarian liaison. If you already have an established relationship with a librarian, please feel free to continue working with that librarian (we are flexible!). Contact us at any time to discuss how we may support you. If your area of study is not listed, please contact the librarian for your pathway.
